v1.7.1 Patch Notes
What's new in v1.7.1
Weekly, monthly and seasonal leaderboards arrive in MMO Skill Tree 1.7.1! Records ranks Combat, Gathering and Adventure by week, month and season, with the skill leaderboard right beside them. Hunt the Feastmaster and the Gobliterator for boss XP and achievements, and your abilities deal Hytale's own damage types.
Built for Hytale Update 7 (0.7.0), so it won't load on Update 6. It needs Ziggfreed's CommonLib 2.3.0, and RPG Stations 1.1.1 if you run it.
Records and titles
- Weekly, monthly and seasonal leaderboards. Records, the rankings page in the menu, ranks Combat, Gathering and Adventure by week, month, season and all time, so a fresh race starts every week.
- The skill leaderboard moves into Records as its Skills tab, and
/mmoleaderboardopens it. It ranks total level, total XP, abilities cast and station work cycles. Everyone from the old leaderboard is on it from the start, even players who haven't logged in since. - As on the old leaderboard, pick Gathering, Combat, Production or Misc on the Skills tab, or one skill such as Mining. A tie goes to whoever has more XP. Skill levels rank over all time.
- Each Records tab opens with your place, how many players are on it and your own numbers, or what counts there if you're not on it yet. The top three get gold, silver and bronze trophies, your own row is lit up, and clicking a column's name ranks everyone by it.
- Everything your Statistics book counted comes with you the first time you log in. Other players fill in on Records as each of them logs in.
- Added a Titles tile to the Adventurer's Guide, where you choose the title shown beside your name. A new title's notice points you there. While you show no title, the next one you earn shows itself, unless you picked Show none.
- Were you first to take a skill to level 100, or did you earn an achievement before it came with a title? That title is yours the next time you log in.
New bosses and achievements
- Added boss XP for the Deepworks bosses. The Feastmaster is worth 2,500 combat XP a kill, and the Gobliterator 5,000, or 15,000 on hard. Each win pays once, and the Scrappers the Feastmaster calls in pay no boss XP.
- Added The Gobliterator, a quest from the Adventurer's Guide. Once you've found the Forgotten Temple, the guide sends you after the Gobliterator in the Deepworks, on standard or hard, for a Skill Lamp worth 5,000 combat XP. The quest tells you where to make the key that gets you there.
- Added Gobliterator Down, for a win with Hard Mode off, and Gobliterator Down: Hard, for a win after you switch on Hard Mode at the button in its arena. They pay 1,000 and 5,000 Defense XP to collect, to everyone who took a real part in the fight.
- Added Feastmaster Down, Feastmaster Hunter and Feastmaster Slayer, for 1, 10 and 50 wins against the Feastmaster. Grizzly Down, Grizzly Hunter and Grizzly Slayer count Voidtaken Grizzlies the same way, and with Kweebec Nightmare, Warden Down, Warden Hunter and Warden Slayer count the Blight Warden. Each pays Defense XP to collect. The last of each gives a title: the Feastbreaker, the Voidhunter or the Wardenbreaker.
- Big Game Hunter and Apex Predator count the Voidtaken Grizzly, beside the Grizzly Bear and the Polar Bear.
Abilities and damage types
- Your abilities deal Hytale's own damage types. Fire, Ice, Lightning, Water, Poison and the rest are the game's, so a creature's resistance to one counts against your abilities too, and Lightning, Water and Poison show Hytale's colours. Arcane, Void and Life come with CommonLib 2.3.0, with colours and death lines of their own.
- Added Wind and Earth damage. Gear can roll both, as damage and as resistance. Vortex Pull (Arcane before) and Wind Dancer (Lightning before) deal Wind, so Wind bonuses raise them.
- Added stance mode, to keep your abilities on E, R and Q. Turn it on from the Abilities page, and H switches between your abilities and your runes. In the MMO stance, E, R and Q cast what you bound to them, though Q still lets your weapon's signature fire first when its bar is full. In the rune stance they're the game's keys. A badge on the cooldown bar shows your stance, which you keep when you log back in, and turning stance mode on or off moves your slots for you.
Skill Lamps and XP boosts
- Added the Skill Lamp. Hold right-click to rub it, then pick from the skills it offers: each one you pick gets the lamp's full XP. Its tooltip says how many skills you pick and how much each gets. Close the picker and you keep the lamp.
- Added your XP boosts to the effects bar, yours and the server's alike, up to four of a kind with an icon each. An icon's ring runs down with its boost's time left. They stay up when you log back in, change worlds or respawn.
Changes
- Your ability keys move to the middle mouse button and H. Update 7 gives E and R to the runes you slot at the bench, and Q stays your weapon's signature move. Slot 1 is on the middle mouse button, slot 2 on Ctrl+middle mouse and slot 3 on H, and you can pick Ctrl+H too. Your layout moves over the first time you log in, and a chat line tells you if you had an ability slotted.
- A crossbow with room in its magazine still reloads on H. With a full magazine, H casts your slot.
- The middle mouse button still picks blocks when your ability doesn't fire, and always in Creative, so use H or Ctrl+H there.
- Your own binds in Controls work, and H can go on a side mouse button (X1 or X2).
- On a gamepad, H is RB + South. The middle mouse button has no gamepad default: bind Pick Block in Controls, or move slots 1 and 2 on the Abilities page.
- The Goblin Glutton takes the place of the Goblin Ogre, which Update 7 removes. It pays the kill and Defense XP the ogre did, Coffer and Deepworks Gluttons included, and the Goblin Guardian counts as a regular goblin.
- The Balanced RPG, Hardcore Survival and Adventure Explorer presets send you after the Feastmaster where they asked for Goblin Ogres: once a step in Adventure Explorer and Balanced RPG, two or three times in Hardcore Survival.
- The death screen names the type of damage that killed you, not the ability. Arcane, Void and Life have lines of their own, a death to poison reads "You died from poisoning!" and a blunt blow like Ground Slam's "You were killed by bludgeoning!". Other types read the game's elemental or physical line.
- Damage auras now raise every hit while they last, where they raised one strike, at a lower multiplier: Guardians Call 1.25x (was 1.4x), Vengeance Aura 1.2x (was 1.3x), Rallying Cry 1.3x (was 1.5x), Phalanx Master 1.2x (was 1.3x) and Prospector's Focus 1.4x (was 1.6x).
- Resistance to a damage type from your skill tree adds into the same total as your gear and mastery.
- A bonus to one damage type, such as Fire or Void, now multiplies with your other damage bonuses after the target's armor, with no cap. Damage over time and lingering zones get the bonus from your enhanced gear too.
- Gear you enhanced keeps its damage type bonuses. A Physical bonus rolled from here on shows two lines with the same number, Physical Damage and Projectile Damage, since it raises your arrows too.
- The limits on stacked bonuses rise a lot, most of them doubled. Resistance to one damage type and the share of a hit your defense takes off can each reach 80%, and your Power Level counts your defense up to that. Critical hit chance has no limit any more: past 100%, every hit is already critical.
- Achievements and achievement point milestones that gave XP to every skill give a Skill Lamp. You pick 3 skills, and each gets three times what every skill got before.
- Combat rewards that paid one weapon skill give a Skill Lamp, and you pick the combat skill that gets the same XP. That covers kill contracts, kill quests and kill achievements, Hard Hitter, Powerhouse, Force of Nature and Combat Master.
- A quest that keeps its next step hidden, such as Stone and Timber, ends its step list in the quest book with a line like "1 more step after this".
- Show Online Status is gone from Settings. Records doesn't show who's online.
- A critical hit shows a red CRIT! while its number keeps its damage type's colour, and crit and level-up text are the same size as the rest of the combat text.
- With Seasons of Orbis 1.1.0, Hallow's Eve pays more skill XP. Old Jack's dailies and every job on his board, Skill jobs included, pay 1,500 XP each, and each job on his errands board 750. Each step of his questline and Lanterns in the Temple pay 2,500, and lighting the Hollow Lantern 5,000 plus 2,500. Ghoul Breaker, Lantern Lobber and Soul Warden pay 2,500, and Geode Cracker 5,000.
- The season's creatures give more kill XP: 130 for Lost Souls and Jack Skeletons, 250 for Hollow Ghouls and Geode Wraiths.
- A full Hallowed set (a Jack Helm, and a Jack Shield in your off hand) shows one notice naming both its bonuses, MMO Skill Tree's extra luck and Artillery damage included, where it showed two.
Fixes
- Fixed What the Stones Remember sending you to dig in the Forgotten Temple, where nothing can be broken. It sends you out into the world, and any natural rock you break counts.
- Fixed the daily Temple's Due never handing over its Eternal seed bag. Its rare relic roll pays out too, with a piece of the Ancient Steel set.
- Fixed Blocks Placed in your Statistics book never going up.
- Fixed
/zighud hideleaving the quest tracker up. While everything is hidden, each Show switch on the Settings tab reads off, and turning one back on brings your displays back. - Fixed the Minor to Epic XP boost tokens reading in English in every language.
- Fixed the notice for a skill level's item rewards leaving out how many you got. It reads like "x5 XP Token".
